Bridge Installation on Newtownards to Bangor Greenway Project

We’re proud to share a major milestone on our Newtownards to Bangor Greenway Project — the successful installation of the pedestrian and cycle bridge on the Bangor Road.

This impressive structure is made up of four precast reinforced concrete sections, each measuring 40 metres, and was transported over 200 miles from Banagher, Co. Offaly to Bangor Road, Newtownards.

🌙 Night Works Execution
The installation was carried out during night works to minimise disruption, with enabling works including in-situ pillar formation to support the span.

💪 Heavy Lift Operation
A huge thank you to Quigley Crane Services, who brought in a 450-tonne crane to perform a 93-tonne lift — a critical part of the operation.
