Some of the Charles Brand team travelled to Rathlin Island to volunteer with the RSPB LIFE Raft project.
The LIFE Raft project aims to protect the internationally important assemblage of breeding seabirds of the Rathlin Island SPA, while also enabling wider species recovery, by removing invasive non-native rats and ferrets.
We assisted the RSPB team by removing rat harbourage, made bait stations and wax blocks, cut out trap covers, checked for ferrets in the trail cameras, cleared the community garden and a few other tasks as well! It was a beautiful day on Rathlin, which made the work a little bit easier.
