The project will involve the construction of a new link road for the proposed Mullinure village development in Armagh which will include the construction of a new 700m link road including two new roundabouts and a new junction onto Mullinure Lane. The new road will run adjacent to the existing Mullinure Lane and will replace a section of this lane and will join the Portadown Road at a new roundabout which will replace the existing roundabout at this location.
A new access junction will be constructed on the link road to allow traffic to enter and exit from Mullinure Land and will become the new primary access point to the lane. The existing junction of Mullinure Lane and Portadown Road will be decommissioned and removed as a vehicular access. The unused section of Mullinure Lane between the old and the new access points will become a shared pedestrian cycleway.
The new link road will terminate at a new roundabout to the north of Portadown Road where it re-joins with Mullinure Lane on the north arm of the roundabout.
Accommodation works will include landscaping, street lighting, road signs, road lining and fencing.
The works will be carried in a nine-month period.
