Works included installing a 90-metre sheet pile wall seaward of the existing pier, filling any existing voids with mass concrete, and anchoring a new wall using raking ground anchors capped with a reinforced concrete beam.
Working within close proximity to listed buildings and the Red Bay SAC marine conservation area, the team implemented robust environmental controls to safeguard heritage assets and local wildlife. The completed works provide a durable, structurally sound solution that enhances resilience while preserving the character of this historic pier for generations to come.
